Investing in IPOs via OnMarket

What is the OnMarket platform?

The OnMarket platform brings investment opportunities, including IPOs, directly to self-directed investors via a dedicated website and mobile app. The OnMarket platform alleviates many of the challenges faced by retail investors in getting access to IPOs and is:

  • Completely free for investors – free to sign-up, and free to invest
  • Mobile – real-time instant notifications, with company research and bidding information brought directly to the investor
  • Fair – defined and automated system ensuring all OnMarket bidders are allocated fairly
  • Broker agnostic – provides access to IPOs regardless of who the lead broker is, all IPOs are collated into one central online bidding platform
  • Seamless – users input their Holder Identification Number (HIN) into their investor profile, which enables any shares purchased via OnMarket to be allocated directly and seamlessly to their preferred broking account. Alternatively, the shares are allocated under an individual Security Reference Number (SRN), which is recorded in the company’s register.

This is what people have been saying about OnMarket:

"Gives retail investors the chance to finally get treated as equals” – Intelligent Investor

“The app making Australian IPOs more inclusive” – Yahoo! Finance

"The new app to unlock SMSF capital” – Self Managed Super Magazine

The 5-step OnMarket bidding process

OnMarket has a simple and clean bidding process and there are 5 easy-to-follow steps:

  1. Sign-up: Join OnMarket as a member
  2. Live IPO notification: Once an IPO goes live, OnMarket members are notified immediately with access to key curated information via phone notifications, text message or email sent straight to an investor’s mobile phone
  3. Bidding: Members bid and pay via the website or app (via BPAY, Direct Debit or Payment Express), directly into the OnMarket Trust Account
  4. Offer close: Shares are subscribed and allocated to the investor, funds are transferred to the company’s account with their Registry
  5. Allocation: Members are notified of their allocation in the IPO. Shares purchased are allotted to the investors broking account via their Holder Identification Number (HIN) or, if the investor does not have a broking account, they are allocated under a Security Registration Number (SRN).

Relevant and complete information brought to the investor

Institutional investors enjoy access to a broad range of information about the company undertaking the IPO, through research reports, investor roadshows and management presentations. OnMarket challenges itself on every IPO to bring as much of the institutional roadshow experience to the retail investor as possible.

The ‘More Info’ page on the OnMarket app and website provides investors with the following company information, centralised on one platform:

  • Video interview with company management
  • Company overview and summary
  • Key deal parameters
  • Company prospectus and announcements
