Placements are new shares issued without a full disclosure document such as a prospectus or Equity Crowdfunding offer document. Placements are available only to eligible investors, that is those investors who qualify as sophisticated, professional or experienced investors under s708 of the Corporations Act 2001(Cth). The company can decide which group of eligible investors can participate in their placement and sometimes experienced investors are excluded.
