Escape This was founded in 2020 with a clear mission: to create immersive, cinematic escape rooms that blend film, theatre, and strategy. Since opening, we’ve welcomed over 370,000 guests and grown from a single venue in Perth to a national leader in immersive experiences.

Today, we operate four premium venues across Perth and Sydney, employ over 80 staff, and generate more than $6 million in annual revenue with a 69% gross profit margin.

Our rooms are more than just puzzles; they're movie-quality adventures with custom-built sets, soundscapes, and storylines. Our Business

Escape This designs and operates cinematic escape room venues. Renowned for creating fully immersive, story-driven adventures, we combine movie-quality sets, original narratives, and challenging puzzles to transport guests into unforgettable worlds. From haunted houses and pirate ships to wild west towns and zombie apocalypses.

We earn revenue through bookings with 41% of our bookings being placed by returning customers. Individually, venues gross up to $2.4M in annual revenue with each room contributing over $329k to annual revenue (a benchmark set by our most popular escape room).

Escape This is vertically integrated to plan, design and build our own escape rooms, operate our own venues and oversee ticket sales directly to customers. Meaning we benefit greatly from lower costs, faster production times and better quality control.

Through these efficiencies we operate at a 69% gross profit margin, with strong customer retention and a unique differentiation in the escape room industry. Now with our factory fully operational, it’s more cost effective than ever for us to build high-end rooms and deploy them across Australia.

We’ve already proven the model, now we’re ready to scale with nation-wide ambitions of 100 escape rooms in the next 3 years.

Market Opportunity

The global escape room market is booming, currently valued at $12.7B and projected to reach $38.3B by 2031. Driven by a change in consumer spending, over 78% of millennials claim they’d rather spend money on experiences rather than physical items and it’s causing an incredible surge in demand.

Emotionally engaging and shared experiences are fast becoming the natural evolution of cinema, gaming, and experiential tourism. In Australia, the immersive entertainment industry is still in its early stages; fragmented, underdeveloped, and lacking premium operators.

However overseas in the UK, Escape Rooms have experienced steep growth in the last decade with over 1,500 venues across Britain - even Red Bull have cashed in on the opportunity, hosting ‘Escape Room’ World Championships.

At Escape This we build more than escape rooms. We create immersive worlds that position our guests as the main character. Our passion for creating premium and original experiences is redefining the traditionally mediocre industry of Location-Based Entertainment (LBE).

LBE such as arcades, mini golf and traditional escape rooms rely on recycled ‘copy and paste’ themes and outdated tech, which results in a poor returning customer rate and a short customer lifespan.

At Escape This we use cutting edge technology, theatre grade materials, immersive sound effects and inhouse quality controls to produce only the highest quality sets. Resultantly, our product stands miles ahead of the competition.

Our business is led by an entrepreneurial team who have proven experience scaling leisure and entertainment businesses, including a nationwide network of 109 paintball sites in the UK and an online bookings platform for activity venues, partnered with thousands of centres worldwide. Our Vision

This isn’t the first adventure for Co-founders and brothers, Bernie and Daniel Janes. Together they’ve run businesses in the leisure sector for the past 27 years.

From team building and event management through to a cohesive network of 109 paintball sites across the UK. But it’s not just brick and mortar stores, launching a gift experience voucher company, an online booking software for activity providers and an aggregator platform for all things adventure sports.

Bernie and Daniel, have grown the business from 2 to 80+ staff, bringing Escape this to life from scratch and bootstrapping the business to circa $6m in annual revenues. The team now includes staff across operations, design, customer experience, and construction.

Funds raised will be used to launch 4 new rooms in the existing Perth and Sydney venues, followed by the expansion into Melbourne and Brisbane in 2026. This will be Escape This next step on our 3 year vision for 100+ rooms across Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Gold Coast.

A seasoned entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience, Daniel Janes has been a driving force in scaling major leisure ventures like Geronigo and Go Ballistic. Investor Rewards.

Hello, I have a question regarding the investor reward tiers. If a retail investor contributes the maximum allowed amount of $10,000, placing them in the $10,000$24,999 reward tier, and the crowdfunding round becomes oversubscribed, will their investment be reduced proportionally due to the oversubscriptionpotentially lowering their reward tieror will they still be able to contribute the full $10,000 on a first-come, first-served basis?
